Day 86 - Signs...

When Mike moved to New Jersey 15 years ago our landlords planted a dogwood tree outside our front window. Year after year Mike was so upset that in the spring time it would grow back its leaves but never flower. Last year we got a few buds which was nice to see when we got home from Cincinnati after our month long stay there offering a sign of happier days ahead. Well this year the tree is completely in bloom with flowers everywhere - a sure sign that even happier days are ahead of us with Daniel.

Today we went to a very good friend's wedding and Daniel got to play the drums. Nobody get any ideas now....

Day 82 - Off to the Park...

Today Daniel and I went to a local park with another mom and her daughter, which we met in music class. Think he was a little excited to go this morning.....

Happy Voice Day to Daniel - or so we call it here in the Duker household. Today marks the one-year anniversary of Daniel being trach-free and we are SO excited for him. It is amazing to realize that this time last year Daniel looked like this....

Day 73- The Return of Heat Miser

Though none of us what our children to be sick, one of the "best" things that happen when Daniel is under the weather is the fact that his hair gets totally and completely out of control. Thus, yesterday brought the return of "Heat Miser" to our house.....

He is feeling much better today and we are keeping our fingers crossed that we will still be able to keep our appointment at Ciny next week.

Day 72 - Under The Weather..

Equals PJ Day!!! Since Daniel is little under the weather today with a cold (I believe - no fever but just super sleepy.) there is no better way to spend the day then in PJs. (Keep your fingers crossed that we will still be able to keep our appointment in Ciny next week.)

Day 71 - Bike Riding

The wind has finally calmed down enough for us to go "bike riding" in our yard. Apparently Daniel is ready to hit the "open road."

The other day we took out our kites since it was a bit windy here. Daniel thought it was much easier to "take" the kit for a walk rather than flying it.....

Day 64 - Shark Shoes...

Daniel found his shark shoes (aqua shoes and yes, they are the good aqua shoes) this morning and hasn't taken them off yet. Can you tell his loves them and is ready for the warm weather??

Day 63 - Easter Egg Hunt

Today we did an Easter Egg hunt for some of our dear friends and their kids. Thankfully the weather was picture perfect and everyone had a great time despite the fact that the eggs which we dyed were supposed to be hard boiled were not. (I have no idea what I did wrong but then again I don't eat eggs so what can one expect.) Here is a photo from our hunt - thanks Jeff and Vicky for taking great photos. Day 62 - Just Having Fun...

Day 61 - Yogurt FINALLY!!

Happy Dance Time in the Duker household as Daniel finally ate a whole can of yogurt. I could not be happier for this little man and yes, a happy dance was done in the kitchen in honor of this HUGE accomplishment. He has been eating yogurt at the feeding sessions via the therapist we have been going to but this was the first time he ate the whole thing just for me. YEAHHHH!!!!

This afternoon this squirrel decided to enjoy the sunny day on our deck. It cracked me up as it made itself completely comfortable.
